Mr. Tshekiso has served in the ACHAP board as a Vice Chairperson. He is the managing consultant of Employment Solutions Consultancy, a local human resource, Labour relations and training consultancy based in Gaborone. He consults and advises on Human Resources and Labour relations issues in the private, parastatal, and non-governmental sectors of the economy. He has worked at Botswana Railways, the Botswana Diamond Valuing Company and its successor company the Diamond Trading Company Botswana where he held Senior and executive roles respectively.
Mr Tshekiso holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the Victoria University of Manchester -UK and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Botswana. He has done the International Executive Development Programme jointly offered by the University of the Witwatersrand Business School and the London Business School. Molwa is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and he is appointed to the panel of parttime Mediators and Arbitrators.
Ms Matabiswana is a business development professional with a Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) focused in Business Leadership from University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. She also holds a Masters in Education (major in Research & Evaluation) and a Bachelors degree in Education (Nursing).
Ms Matabiswana is the Owner and Director of ConConsultants Pty Ltd, an experienced Managing Director with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Skilled in Business Planning, Analytical Skills, Coaching, Sales, and Public Speaking. She is currently appointed Local Representative of Wockhardt Hospitals (Mumbai) India. This is a group of hospitals that offers multispecialty healthcare services to international patients. She has formerly held various senior executive roles at MRI Botswana Ltd as Managing Director and BOMAID as General Manager Operations. Ms Matabiswana has also been a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at the Botswana National Health Institute.
Jeffrey L. Sturchio is chairman of Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, TB and Malaria; and chairman of the International Society for Urban Health. He is also past Chairman and CEO at Rabin Martin, a global health strategy consulting firm, and former President and CEO of the Global Health Council. Before joining the Council in 2009, Dr. Sturchio was vice president of Corporate Responsibility at Merck & Co. Inc., and president of The Merck Company Foundation.
He is currently also a member of the Boards of Directors of ACHAP, the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy, the Consortium for the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine; the U.S. Corporate Council on Africa; the Health Finance Institute, and the Science History Institute. He also serves as a senior associate at the Global Health Policy Center of the Center for Strategic and International Studies; a visiting scholar at the Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health and the Study of Business Enterprise at The Johns Hopkins University; a principal of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network; Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Arthur W. Page Society; and an advisor to the Partnership for Quality Medical Donations, the Center for Health and Wellbeing at Princeton University, the Malaria Elimination Initiative, the Rutgers Global Health Institute, and the TB Alliance. He received an AB in history from Princeton University and a PhD in the history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania. His publications include Noncommunicable Diseases in the Developing World: Addressing Gaps in Global Policy and Research (edited with L. Galambos, Johns Hopkins University Press, 2014); and The Road to Universal Health Coverage: Innovation, Equity and the New Health Economy (edited with I. Kickbusch and L. Ms Motswaiso is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) with a vast experience as a Senior Finance Executive. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Botswana
She is the General Manager of Corporate Services at Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) where she is in charge of managing finance and support functions including Human Resources. She was formerly employed as General Manager of Corporate Services at Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVAF) where she provided strategic leadership to the organization and was responsible for managing finance and support functions. Colleen had also previously led the Finance functions of Metropolitan Life Botswana and Engen Marketing Botswana and further held various positions in the Finance Division at Botswana Telecommunications Corporation. She has been a Board Member of the Botswana Postal Services, Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) as well as the National Development Bank (NDB), and served in their Finance, Risk, and Audit Committees.
Ms Tabengwa is a human rights lawyer from Botswana. She holds an LLB from the University of Botswana and an LLM degree from the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights. Formerly the Executive Director of Pan Africa International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA), she is an experienced human rights defender, activist and feminist with extensive experience in human rights and social justice advocacy, extending to regional and international human rights mechanisms. She is also a former Human Rights Watch LGBTI researcher, conducting research and documenting human rights violations, with specific focus on the rights of sexual and gender minorities in Africa.
She has extensive experience in gender and rights-based training and strategic litigation. She managed many multi-country projects and funding, including the UK Department for International Development (DFID) funded HIVOS LGBTI inclusion project. Monica is one of the founders of the Envisioning LGBTI project, which worked to build networks of knowledge across Commonwealth countries on LGBT issues, and is a founder and supporter of LEGABIBO, an LGBTI organisation in Botswana that has been behind the campaign to decriminalize same-sex relations in Botswana.
Monica Tabengwa is now based at the United Nations Development Programme Africa regional office as a Programme Specialist with the Inclusive Governance Initiative project. The Inclusive Governance Initiative is a regional project that seeks to support countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region to become increasingly accountable to, and inclusive of, their entire populations, including sexual and gender minorities – who are often particularly marginalized and excluded.
Dr Sinvula has many years of experience in the health sector with over 15 years as a senior medical leader and manager. He has been a Deputy Permanent Secretary, and an advisor to the Permanent Secretary and Minister of Health on various health issues. He has successfully led the department of Health Services Management, initially as Director of Clinical Services and later as Deputy Permanent Secretary. Dr Sinvula worked as Hospital Superintendent in a District Hospital (Sekgoma Memorial Hospital) and later in a tertiary Referral Hospital (Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital) in Botswana.
Dr. Sinvula is currently a Consultant on Maternal Health at the Ministry of Health in Botswana doubling as a National Chairman for the Maternal Mortality Audit Committee. In this role, he has successfully designed and implemented the Botswana Maternal Mortality Quality Improvement & Audit framework, the basis of which is core to maternal mortality reduction in Botswana. Dr Sinvula has been a co-director in a busy private Obstetrics & Gynaecology clinic in Gaborone. Dr Sinvula has been a Board Member of Radiation Protection and Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital.
Prof Phaladze is a professor of nursing at the University of Botswana, having been the Head, School of Nursing and a Director of World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) for Nursing and Midwifery Development. She obtained her PhD in Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Prof Phaladze’s research and scholarship has been more focused on HIV and AIDS across different populations and other health care issues such health policy, human resources for health, gender issues and have also expanded her research to include neglected tropical diseases mainly schistosomiasis.
Prof Phaladze is a member of the University of Botswana Institutional Review Board and the Interim Chair of the Applied and Bioethics Center. She also served as a Co-Chair for the Global Ethics Working Group for the HIV Vaccine Trial network and a member of the Global Community Advisory Board for the Botswana Harvard AIDS Partnership. Prof Phaladze belongs to several professional organizations such as the Botswana Nurses Union, Sigma Theta Tau International, Africa Honor Society, International AIDS Society, and has served on several national advisory boards. She represents The African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth) on the Advisory Board of the African Forum for Primary Health Care (AfroPHC).
