    Chief Executive Officer

    Dr Khumo Seipone is a medical doctor and Public Health Specialist having acquired a Doctor of Medicine, Masters of Public Health and Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and is well recognized for her leadership in Health especially in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care. She left the Ministry as a Deputy Permanent Secretary and the Director of Health Services after 20 years of dedicated service, whose role was to ensure quality of health services through the development and implementation of health care policies, standards and regulation of health services within government and private sector.

    She has Executive Leadership and Risk Management training with a proven record of good leadership and management especially in development, execution of strategy, building effective teams, strategic partnerships and implementation of quality Public Health Sector programs. She is a firm believer in individual and community empowerment in delivery of health care supported by strong health systems that provide quality health outcomes.

    In her role as a member of the National AIDS Council and Chairperson of the UN Health and HIV Sector Coordinating Component GROUP (CCG) and Deputy Chairperson Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM), she opened opportunities to network internationally to lobby for regional support at SADC. She also opened networking opportunities at the U.N, North and South America including China and Brazil in the south to south cooperation support and resource mobilization for the health sector including showcasing Botswana’s achievement in the control of HIV/AIDS and primary health care.

    Prior to the current position, Dr Seipone held several portfolios within the Ministry of Health and Wellness internationally including Deputy Permanent Secretary, Health Services, National PMTCT Program Manager, Public Health specialist in several units such as Epidemiology and Disease Control Unit and AIDS/ STD and Medical Officer, Princess Marina Hospital.

    Mr Busang has been with ACHAP since 2003. He holds a bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Statistics. He has been instrumental in the areas of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, statistics and Programmes at senior level positions both in government and non-governmental institutions. The past two decades have seen Mr Busang actively engaged in designing leading projects that impacted on policy. He has been active in development and publishing of manuscripts in peer review journals. Prior to joining ACHAP, Mr Busang has worked for the Botswana Harvard Partnership for HIV/AIDS Research and Education (BHP) as a trainee data manager where he had the opportunity to work on the early HIV/AIDS clinical trials as well as analyse the National ART for the first 300 pilot patients for his Master Degree Research Project. He also worked for the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in the Demography Unit before being ton the 2001 Population and Housing Census nucleus team.

    Ms. Thato Pelaelo is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA-UK) by profession. Pelaelo has over 15 years work experience of which 8 years has mainly been in grants management and administration of Government of Botswana, US Government and Global Fund funded grants. Her experience covers accounting, auditing, resource mobilisation and grants management/administration. Ms Pelaelo joined ACHAP in 2014 from Tebelopele Voluntary Counselling & Testing Centers where she was Finance & Assets Manager. Before then she worked for PwC-Botswana Office as an external auditor for a period of seven years.

    Mr. Blessed Monyatsi is a Social Development, Health and Administration expert with special skills in development and management of health programs and more than 20 years of continued work on HIV/AIDS and TB. Mr. Monyatsi has very strong skills in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation of large health programmes and capacity building. Blessed has worked extensively on HIV/AIDS, TB and social development providing technical support to national level programmes as well as support for community level programming. Mr. Monyatsi holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, MA degrees in Business Administration and Development Studies.  

    He has demonstrated significant expertise project team management, resource management and stakeholder engagement and management. He has led advocacy for greater MoHW involvement and active participation through their DHMTs in various grant related activities including the COVID-19 grant.

    Finance & Administration Manager

    Mr Christopher Lekobane has 22 years working experience and is currently ACHAP’s Finance & Procurement Manager. His skills include preparing audit files and overseeing external audits, writing payroll journals and preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements. He is also assisting in monthly financial management of accounts for ACHAP, Global Fund Project and CDC Projects. Mr Lekobane holds vast knowledge on financial policies and has extensive experience on their implementation. He holds an AAT Diploma and is currently reading to be a BICA member.

  • Mr Kabelo Kgongwana

    Mr. Kabelo Kgongwana is the Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Project Manager at ACHAP. He holds a BSc in Nursing Science, a Post -Graduate Diploma in Public Health and is currently reading for a Master of Arts in Population Studies (Specialising in Demography). He has previously served as Senior M&E Officer for VMMC in ACHAP, M&E Manager for the Global Fund project at BOCAIP and Project Officer for HIV Prevention for Most at Risk Populations at BOFWA. Mr. Kgongwana’s expertise is in project design and management as well as monitoring and evaluation of public health programmes.

    Ms. Milidzani Tsheko has over fourteen years of experience in the human resources management, twelve of which, have been served as human resource generalist in non-governmental settings and two years in private sector specialising in recruitment. She has an understanding and ability to analyse and interpret labour laws, relating with management and employees by addressing their demands and grievances, has the ability to develop and implement human resources strategies and initiatives. She also has the capability of overseeing and managing a performance management system that drives a high-performance culture.

    Research Monitoring & Evaluation Manager

    Mr. Mooketsi Ramakele is an accomplished strategic planner with over 12 years of strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, research and data analysis experience. He has an outstanding record in strategy and organization planning, performance management, research design, and program planning.

    He is certified at the master level as a balanced scorecard professional. He is adept at developing systems to support evidence-based decision making for leadership and management. Mr. Ramakele has a Master’s degree in Research and Evaluation from the University of Botswana (2014)

    Dr. Otsile Modisaotsile has over 10 years’ experience working as a Medical Doctor, two of which was spent in a hospital setting as a Medical Office Anaesthetist. Dr. Modisaotsile then worked for non-governmental organisations, ITECH-Botswana and ITECH-Namibia for PEPFAR funded programs both as a service provider and trainer overseeing implementation of VMMC service delivery programs. He also worked for the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Directorate of Special Programs overseeing VMMC Program as well as issues of Quality in conjunction with other implementing program partners in the Khomas region in Namibia.

    He is currently overseeing quality issues for the VMMC programme at ACHAP. In 2020, Dr. Modisaotsile was reassigned to join the country’s COVID-19 response and served on various structures including Guidelines Committees, Emergency Response and was technical lead for ACHAP’s COVID-19 programming.
